The Director of strategic communications of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign council, Bashorun Dele Momodu, has waded in on the uproar generated by the release of President Bola Tinubu’s academic record by the Chicago State University (CSU), saying lawyers like Chief Femi Fani-Kayode were mute because it’s indefensible.
The Leadership Newspaper reported earlier that the BBC’s Global Disinformation Team reported that it found no evidence that the CSU diploma President Tinubu submitted to the country’s electoral commission for the 2023 election was forged.
However, speaking during a Facebook Live, Momodu said the certificate saga was no longer about the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, hence concerned people with common sense ought to apologise over the matter and move on.
“Atiku has invested his resources in his belief and principles and has moved on. He has fulfilled all righteousness. Anyone with common sense will just apologize. To be insulting Nigerians on top of it is the height of shameless,” he stated.
Momodu noted that Tinubu’s secondary school certificate was invalid because the government school he claimed to have attended was not even in existence during the year indicated.
“I will defend a man who has the courage to apologize. I’ve not been an apostle of Tinubu’s style of politics. There are things my body cannot take. Some people can be voluntary slaves but he knows me, I’m not one of them,” Momodu said.
